After just three months on the job, Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce’s CEO Craig Schmidt has resigned.

“We accepted Craig’s resignation May 16,” said Chamber Board Chair Jason Drew in a press release sent out May 19. “It was an amicable parting and we wish Craig every success in his future endeavors.”

Prior to starting work at the Tahoe Chamber in February, Craig served as the executive director for the Chamber of Commerce in Mammoth Lakes, California.

Steve Teshara, who served as interim CEO at the Tahoe Chamber from July of last year through January of this year, has agreed to serve as the Tahoe Chamber CEO “for the foreseeable future.”

Teshara has more than 25 years of experience as a chief executive in organizations throughout the Tahoe Basin. He is the owner of Sustainable Community Advocated, a consulting firm in Zephyr Cove, and has served as the Tahoe Chamber’s government affairs liaison since 2010.
