The Tahoe Art League recently selected its June art contest winners. Dr. Forrest Patin won first prize for “Stripes,” his geometric photograph of a group of zebras.

Patin travels extensively and has captured images on six of the seven continents. He took his winning photograph on safari in Tanzania. Visit the Tahoe Art League Art Center at 3062 Lake Tahoe Blvd. from July to September to view a collection of Patin’s works, or see the picture online at http://www.worldwidephoto.biz.

Nancy Clarke’s oil painting, “Sierra Tarn,” won second place. Clarke’s landscapes, which showcase bright light, blue shadows and Sierra skies, are on display at galleries in Gardnerville, Carson City and South Lake Tahoe, and at Valhalla in the summer.

A mixed-media photo collage of iridescent tropical butterflies won third prize for Egon Klementi. Klementi’s artwork is on exhibit at the Snowflake Gallery at Barton, Passaretti’s Italian Restaurant, the Nevada Art Association and the Tahoe Art League Art Center.

Visit the Lake Tahoe Community College Library to view the contest winning artworks, or check talart.org. Stop by the art center to pick up the TAL 2008 schedule of art events and to get a copy of the new, full-color 2008-09 artists registry.
