May 7, 2003
A 15-year-old boy was arrested after admitting he shot paint balls at Bijou Community School.
The incident involved several juveniles who were on the school grounds with the teen at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
A South Lake Tahoe police officer walked up on the juveniles, when the 15-year-old suspect shot at a light causing it to break. The boys who were with the suspect began laughing, according to officers.
When the officer detained the suspect, he told them that he had shot at other locations at the school. The officer made the boys clean up the paint, took the other boys to their parents and booked the 15-year-old on vandalism charges.
