New Zealand natives and alternative icons The Naked and Famous are playing Tahoe's South Shore on Saturday, May 27.
Chances are you've heard the smash-hit "Young Blood" (even if the title doesn't ring any bells, you'd recognize the chorus' "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" the instant they began and be unable to get them out of your head), but the five-member band recently dropped its third album, "Simple Forms."
"This is a very vocal album and it is back to being quite bright. There aren't many long instrumental passages.
"It's more vocally oriented and the songs are carved around that core emotional message to the listener and being done with it," vocalist and guitarist Thom Powers said.
The 10-track record debuted in October 2016, bearing an emotional weight that some have attributed to the break-up between Powers and fellow TNAF vocalist Alisa Xayalith.
"If you persevere with love and determination, you're going to come through a really dark time and feel very proud of yourself because you triumph over the situation. You grew and you became a stronger person because of it and I think that's beautiful," Xayalith noted.
The Naked and Famous perform at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available through the venue's website starting at $32, plus taxes and fees.
The gig is open to guests over the age of 21.
MontBleu is located at 55 U.S. 50 in Stateline.
