November 13, 1956 – March 11, 2013
David Brian De Pola, 56, passed away peacefully on Monday March 11, 2013 with his loving family and friends by his side.
David De Pola was born on November 13, 1956 in San Jose, CA to parents John and Emily De Pola. The De Pola family moved to Sutter Creek, CA where they owned a restaurant. After his father passed in 1983 he moved to South Lake Tahoe, where he has happily resided since. Many people knew him as the lovable guy behind the counter at Fox Gas. Fox Gas was the only place he worked in Tahoe, with over 27 years of employment. He wasn’t a man of many words, but when he spoke he gave good advice and was able to make anyone smile. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing sports. He was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Oakland A’s.
He is survived by his daughter Carol De Pola, daughter of Mary Willis. Girlfriend Dinah Hinde. Siblings sister Jacklyn and brother Ronnie. Nieces and nephews Arlene, Charlene, Tina, Michael, John, Jason, Jarrod, Lisa, Lindsey, Tawny, Greg, and Tiffani. Close friends Chrissy, Michael, Toby, John and many other family and friends who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Michael, father John, sister Rita, sister Sharon, and mother Emily.
A memorial service (casual attire) will be held in celebration of David’s life at the Beachcomber Inn, 999 Lakeview Ave. South Lake Tahoe on Saturday April 6, 2013 beginning at 1PM. If you have any questions please call his daughter Carol at 530-307-8057.
