Kudos & Kindness: Thanks for making the freestyle championships memorable

The Heavenly experience is always one-of-a-kind. The rich freestyle history, the enthusiastic fans cheering athletes on and the beautiful scenery combined to create a truly world-class event that rivaled international World Cups. Parents, friends and fans of these talented athletes had the opportunity to watch them race with the world’s best on the same courses they grew up on.

Compliments abounded at the Sprint U.S. Freestyle National Championships from athletes, parents and officials about the course, the snow and the people who made the event possible. The venue was ideal for watching Heather McPhie defend her moguls title, battling against World Champion Hannah Kearney. The local spirit shone as hometown athlete Sho Kashima climbed the podium for the first time on his return from injury.

The entire Sprint U.S. Freestyle National Championships team delivered an outstanding event that has set a new standard for national championships. On behalf of our athletes, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to Heavenly Resort and the local community for an outstanding National Championships. Thank you for making this such a memorable event.
