Two arrested for reportedly selling pot to students

Two South Lake Tahoe residents were arrested Monday after police discovered marijuana was being sold to South Tahoe High School and South Tahoe Middle School students.

William Anderson, 30, and his fiancée, Makayal Hoehn, 25, were reportedly arrested following an investigation prompted by a school resource officer who learned that adults were selling marijuana to students, according to a Tuesday press release from South Lake Tahoe Police Department. The resource officer passed information to patrol officers about 8:30 a.m. Monday, and officers conducted an investigation in which they learned children were buying marijuana from someone named “Will.” The investigation led police to Anderson and they served a search warrant at his home on Marjorie Street, where they found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the release stated. Anderson reportedly admitted to selling marijuana to students and Hoehn allegedly admitted knowledge of Anderson’s marijuana sales from their residence.

The couple’s two small children were removed from the residence and turned over to the custody of Child Protective Services due to unsafe living conditions in the residence, police said. Anderson was arrested and charged with selling marijuana to minors, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug house and child endangerment. Hoehn was arrested and charged with maintaining a drug house and child endangerment.

Any information about to this case can be submitted to School Resource Officer Aaron Crawford or investigating Officers Jake Herminghaus and Officer Travis Cabral at the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

Police encourage parents to communicate with their children about these dangerous issues.
