"The program will open with Faure's solemn symphonic-choral masterpiece, Requiem, with soloists Anna Helwing and Joy Strotz, sopranos; and Stuart Duke, baritone; and includes the 60 voice Tahoe Symphony Chorus," according to a press release from the orchestra and chorus. "The Requiem will be followed by pianist, Ann LaRose, playing Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor. The concert concludes with famed violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn performing Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin in D major, Op. 35 on the legendary Red Stradivarius Violin. Maestro James Rawie, TOCCATA's Founder and Artistic Director, will conduct all performances."
Tickets for the performances are available at the door or online at http://www.toccatatahoe.com. General admission is $30 adults and $25 for seniors. Tickets for youth and students under age 23 are $5 for seating 15 minutes prior to concert time.
The orchestra and chorus will also perform the concerts on Sept. 12 in Gardnerville and Sept. 14 in Reno.
