“The program will open with Faure’s solemn symphonic-choral masterpiece, Requiem, with soloists Anna Helwing and Joy Strotz, sopranos; and Stuart Duke, baritone; and includes the 60 voice Tahoe Symphony Chorus,” according to a press release from the orchestra and chorus. “The Requiem will be followed by pianist, Ann LaRose, playing Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor. The concert concludes with famed violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn performing Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin in D major, Op. 35 on the legendary Red Stradivarius Violin. Maestro James Rawie, TOCCATA’s Founder and Artistic Director, will conduct all performances.”
Tickets for the performances are available at the door or online at www.toccatatahoe.com. General admission is $30 adults and $25 for seniors. Tickets for youth and students under age 23 are $5 for seating 15 minutes prior to concert time.
The orchestra and chorus will also perform the concerts on Sept. 12 in Gardnerville and Sept. 14 in Reno.
