Ryan Summerlin January 27, 2010
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Roaming Gnome, mascot of online travel Web site www.travelocity.com is debating where to ski this winter – Tahoe or Utah – and wants his Facebook friends to decide.
Beginning today the gnome will host a voting contest on his Facebook page (find it through www.tahoedailytribune.com/gnomevote) and ask fans to choose between Utah and Tahoe.
Utah vs. Lake Tahoe is the second pair of rival ski destinations. Voting begins today and ends noon Feb. 3.
The first contest was between Whistler, Canada and Banff, Canada. Banff won.
The winning destination will be revealed Feb. 3, and the Roaming Gnome will immediately travel to that location to visit friends and locals, pose for pictures and participate in some of the most popular activities and happenings the area has to offer, showing followers what they could also experience on their own ski adventure.
Fans can also follow the gnome’s journey at www.twitter.com/RoamingGnome.
To vote, you must become a fan of the Roaming Gnome on www.facebook.com.
