UNR’s Story WAC hoops player of week

RENO, Nev. (AP) – Nevada’s Malik Story has been named the Western Athletic Conference’s basketball player of the week after averaging nearly 20 points a game while helping the Wolf Pack win two out of three in the Chicago Invitational Challenge.
The junior guard from Pasadena, Calif., made a career-high seven three-pointers and finished with a game-high 28 points in a 80-78 victory over Longwood.
He had 11 points in a loss to Brigham Young in Chicago then finished with 20 points in Nevada’s 64-59 win over Bradley. For the week, he made 19-of-39 shots from the field, 14-of-26 from three-point ranges and was named to the Chicago Invitational’s all-tournament team.
