Watch painting, bring your own

The public is invited to attend an oil painting demonstration by artist Anita Wolff May 14 during the Tahoe Art League meeting. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Art Building, between the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., and South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Everyone should bring a piece of art work to be critiqued.
Wolff is recognized nationally as expert in the field of oil and pastel mediums and will paint a portrait using a live model.
Articles relating to her beautiful paintings have appeared in American Artist magazine, the Artist Magazine, South West Artists, Veranda, Pastel Artist International and Australian Artist magazine. Her work also was included in two books written by Madlyn Woolrich.
Wolff has participated in group exhibitions in Canada, France, England, Kentucky and Illinois. Her work also has been shown as solo exhibits in the Norton Simon Foundation Gallery in California; the Q’Raz Gallery, Seattle, Wash.; Talmadge Art Gallery, Placerville, Calif.; Zantman’s Gallery of fine Art, Carmel, Calif.; Blackhawk Gallery, Danville, Calif.; and Gallery Chevrier, Sonoma, Calif.
Wolff received Best of Show awards from the Pastel Society of Florida and Society of Western Art in San Francisco. She was awarded Gold Medal honors from International Platform Society, Washington, D.C.; and Knickerbocker Artists, New York, as well as the Joseph V. Giffuni award from the Pastel Society of America.
