Jerry Foster, left, on Tuesday evening outside the South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Center. The couple was anticipating getting married Sunday, but news of the fire changed those plans. After being evacuated from their Emerald Bay Road condominiums on Tuesday, the two found themselves among the wedding party that had also been evacuated, or was helping with evacuation efforts. Wise and McMillen saw it as the perfect opportunity to realize what was truly important in life by getting married. "I'm stoked," McMillen said after the ceremony.

Gail McMillen and Allen Wise of South Lake Tahoe, who were married June 26 outside the South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Complex in the midst of the Angora fire evacuation, want to let friends and family know their regularly scheduled wedding will still take place. The wedding and celebration will begin at 2 p.m. July 1 at Reagan Beach.
