Dawson Cloutier, the 7-year-old South Shore resident who underwent brain surgery to remove a tumor over Memorial Day weekend, underwent a second successful surgery to remove what remained of the tumor on Aug. 15. He is recovering at Sacramento’s Sutter Memorial Hospital with his parents, Linda and Keith Cloutier at his side.

“Dawson was conscious within a couple of hours after the surgery,” Keith Cloutier said by telephone. “He opened his eyes and said, ‘My head hurts, I want 7UP and I think I need some medication.’ ”

Dawson’s father added, “We are ever grateful for the continuing support of our family and friends back home at Tahoe.”
