Widowers group plans activities

With the thought in mind that spring may be just around the corner, members of the Lake Tahoe chapter, Widowed Persons Association of California are planning outdoor activities for the months of May and June.

On Wednesdays beginning May 28 members will gather at Kiva picnic area at 4 p.m. for a bring your own barbecue. The briquette fire is furnished and participants bring what they like to eat.

On May 18 the May general meeting will take place at a member’s home. A short social hour and a brief meeting will precede dinner. The June general meeting will be a picnic at Bijou Community Park at 2 p.m. with meat and buns provided by the club.

Other scheduled events include Chat and Chew luncheons on May 8 and June 12 and Mystery Dinners on May 22 and June 26. Hikes and walks are arranged as interest arises as are participation in community activities.

Widowed persons who would like to explore joining others in activities may call (530) 542-4912 and complete information on membership and a calendar of activities will be provided.
