A wind advisory for Lake Tahoe will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Reno issued the advisory, warning that winds will increase throughout the day and into the evening.

Winds from the southwest will range 15-25 mph, with gusts as strong as 50 mph.

The strong winds may pose travel difficulties for vehicles and turbulence for aircraft.

Wave height may range from 2-4 feet, meaning boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off the lake until conditions improve, the National Weather Service advises.
