Women’s center thanks community for support

South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center would like to thank Grocery Outlet and Dog Dog Cat for their ongoing support for victims of violence. This October, Grocery Outlet featured a donation box for Domestic Violence Awareness Month at each of their check stands and employees wore purple ribbons and buttons to show their support.

SLTWC would also like to thank the generous community members who placed money in the donation boxes. Each small contribution will go towards paying for emergency housing, food, clothes and other items for victims of abuse.

SLTWC would like to thank Dog Dog Cat and the community members who participated in the Pet Parade and Costume Contest. The event raised money to pay for the health and well-being of pets belonging to victims of domestic violence. Funds will be shared between the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center and Lake Tahoe Humane Society and will be used to feed, house and provide basic needs for pets while their owners relocate to safer housing. Support from local individuals and businesses, like Grocery Outlet and Dog Dog Cat, enables South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center to continue providing comprehensive, individualized assistance to women, men and children in need.
