Workshops to provide spark for local businesses
June 19, 2007
The Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce will host its third “Your Town Luncheon” featuring five very diverse, creative and dynamic speakers today.
Greg Carson of MeringCarson and Patrick Kaler of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority will kick off the luncheon with a presentation entitled “How do you Step into the Blue?” which will explore what the Blue Lake Tahoe campaign is and how local businesses and the community can capitalize on the extensive promotions being done by the LTVA.
Carson is the creator of this campaign and along with his firm works on accounts such as Disney and the State of California Tourism campaign. Carson will share ideas and concepts that he has assisted in putting in motion in other communities. Carson and Kaler will provide participants with “The Top 10 Ways to Go Blue.”
“We are pleased to be partnering with the Chamber in helping local businesses learn how they can become a part of the Blue Lake Tahoe campaign,” Kaler said. “We encourage all types of businesses to have some fun and get creative so they benefit from the dollars we are spending to promote the South Shore. The topics we’ll cover will be equally applicable to services, retail, recreation and tourism businesses as there will be some little piece for all. We are especially lucky to have Greg Carson joining us as he travels extensively and has a keen eye for what has united other communities and helped them to succeed.
Following the luncheon presentation there will be two workshops. The first, entitled “Igniting Blue Ribbon Service at Your Place of Business” will be presented by Virginia Boyar of FUNdamental Training Solutions. The second workshop “Spending Your Advertising & Marketing Dollars” will be led by RSN General Manager Pete Loughlin, MeringCarson Creative Director Greg Carson and RK PR Director Ronele Klingensmith.
