On the Hill: Riding Heavenly's Gondola

On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today's activity: Riding the Heavenly Gondola.

Conditions: Not all Lake Tahoe adventures require sweat. A perfect example is the gondola ride at Heavenly Ski Resort. In the summer, the gondola takes you 2.4 miles up the mountain to an observation deck, and then higher to a rock climbing wall, cafe and more. Perfect for all adventure levels, the gondola ride is fun for anyone who loves the lake. For more ideas of what to do at Heavenly, see this story: Heavenly announces bike park, other recreation options.

Today's weather: Nothing but perfect summer weather this week. Today peaks at 90 degrees with really light winds at 5 mph. Rest of the week follows suit, with temps in the 80s. Summer's here; get out and enjoy the holiday weekend. — National Weather Service
