Super friends unite for hero dance party

Superheroes of all stripes will take to Tahoe City this weekend for a dress-up dance party at Jake’s on the Lake.

The Superhero Dance Party starts at 9 p.m. Friday at the Boatworks Mall restaurant and bar.

“Superheros unite in a super high energy dance party to fight against the evil forces of party poopers,” according to an email from Rambo Party Productions. “Dress as your favorite super hero or create your own superhero with your own unique super powers! Show off your superhuman dance moves!”

The event will feature music by DJs Mr. Rooney and Jeremy Curl. The latter includes ambient, down-tempo, house and drum and bass music among his varied performances. He has played in Reno and San Diego throughout the ‘90s and has released his own tracks as The Penny Traders & Frenz, according to the dance party’s Facebook page.

“Jeremy has shared stages with greats like: Bassnectar, Freq Nasty, Random Rab, BLVD, Dieselboy, Justin Martin, Collette, Doc Martin, Scooter and Lavelle and Black Rock City All-Stars to name a few,” according to the page.
