Ahi sliders, lobster and shrimp macaroni and cheese, gourmet chili and espresso shortbread will be among the offerings at an inaugural event in Truckee this weekend.
Taste of Truckee at Tahoe Donner features a selection of food and wine offerings from around the area. The event is paired with a cross-country ski tour, although that portion of the event could turn into a hike depending on snow conditions over the weekend.
“It’s a reason for foodies to get out and enjoy the outdoors,” said Tahoe Donner spokeswoman Jenny Kendrick about the event.
The Lodge Restaurant & Pub, Pizza on the Hill, Alder Creek Café, Drunken Monkey, Wild Cherries, Jax at the Tracks, Spice, The Pour House, Whole Treats Bakery will all provide food at Taste of Truckee. The Pour House, Truckee River Winery, Michael David Winery and Artesa Vineyards & Winery will provide the wine.
The tour is scheduled from 12:30-2:30 p.m. with après fun taking place until 4:30 p.m., according to a press release from Tahoe Donner.
Tickets cost $35 in advance or $45 the day of the event. The ticket price includes a trail pass for the 2014/2015 season at Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.tahoedonner.com/shop or by calling the 530-587-9484 or 530-587-9400.
A percentage of proceeds from Taste of Truckee will be donated to Tahoe Food Hub and Far West Nordic Ski Education Association.
