North Tahoe Crime Logs, March 15 to April 15

Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for March 15 to April 15.

March 15

• At 10 p.m. on the 500 Block of Pineland in Tahoe City, a physical fight occurred between adult son and father. No prosecution was desired.

March 17

• At 8 p.m. on Highway 89 north of Tahoe City, a DUI driver was turned over to California Highway Patrol.

March 18

• At 1 a.m. on the 9900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, two males came to blows after one insulted the other’s girlfriend. The suspect head-butted the victim and knocked his teeth loose. The suspect fled the scene.

• At 3 a.m. on the 3000 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, pursuant to a report of a male passed out while standing up against the clerk’s retail counter, a subject was arrested for public intoxication.

March 19

• At Martis Camp in Truckee, two male subjects started fighting at a job site due to a miscommunication. One of the subjects was fired. No arrest was made.

March 20

• At 3 p.m. on the 13000 Block of Ritz Carlton Drive in Truckee, a male subject was arrested for using a fraudulent credit card. The suspect opened two credit cards in his father’s name and used them to pay for a hotel room.

March 21

• At 3:30 p.m. on the 2000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, officers took a report for harassment. A female suspect sent several texts to male victim in hopes he would break up with his girlfriend.

March 22

• At 1:15 p.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a reporting party witnessed a 60ish-year-old male subject masturbating in the parking lot outside his car. The suspect was gone upon officer’s arrival.

• At 7:30 p.m. on the 5000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, an unknown suspect stole personal items from victim’s locked vehicle while he was skiing. No forced entry was found.

• At 11:15 p.m. on the 600 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect smashed the windshield out of two parked vehicles.

• At 11:45 p.m. at Alpine Meadows, a female was arrested for domestic violence after hitting her husband twice in the face.

March 24

• At 2 a.m. on Highway 28 at Deer Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

March 25

• At 8 p.m. on Highway 38 at Chipmunk Avenue in Kings Beach, a female was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.

March 27

• At 2:30 a.m. on the 1700 Block of Christy in Olympic Valley, a male subject wandered to the reporting party’s house in a drunken stupor. The reporting party let him in to warm up and called the cops. The subject was taken into protective custody for public intoxication.

March 28

• At 2:30 p.m. on the 2600 Block of Hillcrest in Tahoe City, two victims suspected other roommates of stealing their bicycles in a dispute over money owed.

March 29

• At 11:40 a.m. on the 2000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, a victim suspected a co-worker of stealing his snowboard. During a consensual contact with the suspect, he returned the item back to the victim. The victim declined to press charges.

March 30

• At 5 p.m. on the 2600 Block of Alpine Meadows Road in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect removed a backpack, wallet and cash out of a victim’s unlocked vehicle.

• At 5:30 p.m. on Highway 28 at Chipmunk in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

March 31

• At 9:30 a.m. on the 600 Block of Chipmunk in Kings Beach, a female called to report she suspects her roommate of stealing three of her marijuana pipes and her birth certificate.

• At 6:30 p.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect removed victim’s iPad from her open hotel room.

April 1

• At 6 a.m. on the 4200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, a female subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

• At 5:45 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, pursuant to verbal argument between two females, one punched the other in the face three times and left. The victim wishes prosecution.

April 3

• At 2 a.m. on Highway 28 at Red Cedar in Tahoe City, a subject was pulled over for swerving and was ultimately cited for possession of marijuana in the vehicle.

• At 11 a.m. on the 11000 Block of Silverfir in Truckee, an unknown suspect used victim’s social security number to obtain a car loan at a car dealership.

April 4

• At 11 a.m. on the 400 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect removed victim’s camera from his backpack while dining out.

• At 8:30 p.m. on Highway 28 at Cobblestone in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.

April 5

• At 10 a.m. by Truckee River near Silver Creek in Olympic Valley, a male subject was cited fishing out of season. The suspect was caught and released.

• At 5:45 p.m. on the 1960 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, Search and Rescue was activated after a snowboarder went off the backside of Squaw. The snowboarder turned up on Alpine Meadows Road two hours later unharmed.

April 6

• At 1:15 a.m. on Highway 267 at Martis Peak in Truckee, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

April 7

• At 12:30 p.m. on the 6400 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Homewood, an unknown suspect stole victim’s bicycle sometime since October.

April 11

• At 4:30 p.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, one male subject was arrested for purchasing alcohol for a minor decoy. It was also determined the suspect was on probation and search was conducted on his vehicle. Another family member was in the car and both were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

April 15

• At 4:45 p.m. on the 1200 Block of Lords Way in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect stole victim’s camera from a rental property he stayed at in March.

• At 6:30 p.m. on the 85000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, report was taken for a fist fight among three subjects that occurred at a bar. No prosecution was desired.
