Sunshine Letter | Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program thanks partners, participants, sponsors

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Energized leaders graduate

The North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program would like to thank our sponsors and supporters for their generosity and support. This program creates an opportunity for potential leaders to broaden understanding of the region and its issues, challenges and opportunities, while developing and honing their leadership skills.

Since 2004, the program has graduated more than 220 individuals. These alumni are now challenging themselves, serving their employers and our community in community-building efforts.

The workshops are led by Shannon Beets, vice president/provost at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village. Founding partners of the Leadership Program include the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce/CVB/Resort Association, Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, and North Tahoe Business Association.

Education partner is Sierra Nevada College and fiscal partner is the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation.

Each participant is required to pay tuition and many seek scholarship assistance. These scholarships are paid for by generous sponsors. In addition, businesses and organizations support our program in many different ways.

With deep gratitude for their generous contributions to the Leadership Program, the partners and participants would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for their generosity: Vail Resorts Echo Foundation, Sustainable Community Advocates, Rotary Club of Tahoe City, Petra, North Lake Tahoe Kiwanis Club, Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner, Sierra Nevada Media Group, Wells Fargo Bank, Rotary Club of Truckee.

With gratitude,

Karen Willcuts, program coordinator
