Suspect arrested for burglary at South Shore Bikes

A man who reportedly admitted to burglarizing South Shore Bikes was arrested Sunday at Barton Hospital.

The burglary occurred about 9 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release. Police reportedly discovered someone had entered the business through a roof vent and exited through a window at the front of the shop. Blood, which indicated the suspect may have been injured during the burglary, and other identifying evidence was collected at the scene, police said. About 1 a.m. Monday, officers responded to Barton Hospital, where they contacted the suspect, South Lake Tahoe resident Lee Sparks, 34, who reportedly had several fresh cuts on his arms. Sparks admitted to the burglary and taking one bicycle from the business, police said. He was arrested and charged with burglary and booked into El Dorado County Jail.
