Truckee Police Logs, March 11-18

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for March 11-18, along with previously unreported incidents.

March 6

Electronic check was charged to subject’s bank account, which was not authorized. Money was returned by the bank and the check was cancelled.

March 8

A reporting party called to state his daughters were threatened by a subject with a gun at their apartment on Waters Way. Officers contacted the victims, who gave conflicting statements. One of the victims stated the suspect was never let into the apartment. Second victim said she heard shots outside the apartment building approximately 20 minutes after the suspect had left. An incident report was taken, and follow-up is continuing with possible suspect.

March 9

Subject rented two generators from a rental company with fake ID and information. The incident occurred on River Park Place.

March 11

Officers stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violation on Palisades Drive at Pine Cone Road. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and booked into the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Truckee.

A suspect was arrested on Waters Way for driving under the influence and child endangerment.

Officers recorded two vehicle, non injury collision on Rock Street at Moraine Road.

A vehicle was stolen by unknown person(s) from the parking lot of a local mechanic shop located on Old Brockway Road.

Subject reported she possibly lost her passport out of her bag while visiting Truckee.

March 12

A subject, that was wanted for attempted burglary, was located on Waters Way. During a search, controlled substances were located, indicating he was involved in drug sales. The subject was booked in Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Truckee. Second subject was arrested for aiding and abetting the first.

Sex registrant was discovered to be employed in the State of Nevada, Reno. This was in violation of his probation terms. Special enforcement team from Reno Police assisted with surveillance. The suspect was contacted and arrested for Nevada State sex registration violations on Truckee Airport Road.

Multiple cell phones were stolen by unknown person(s) out of unattended back packs inside of a recreation center on Donner Pass Road.

March 13

An injured raccoon was located on a residential street with obvious serious trauma to its hind legs and back. The animal was humanly dispatched.

Two students had pranks pulled on them during school. Both subjects were upset over the pranks and decided to fight about it after exiting the school bus.

March 14

A victim of a assault phoned 911 after her ex-boyfriend entered her residence on Donner Pass Road unlawfully. After the male entered the residence, the victim attempted to physically remove him; however, the suspect pushed the victim. After a short struggle and altercation, the victim was able to push the suspect out of the residence. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation on Donner Pass Road at Bridge Street. The driver was arrested for DUI.

March 16

Subject with two local warrants was located and arrested on Donner Pass Road. Police search revealed possession of small amounts of controlled substances. The subject was booked at Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Truckee.

A vehicle was located overturned off roadway on Glenshire Drive. Officers were unable to locate or contact any occupants. The vehicle was stored.

Two subjects entered laundrymat on Donner Pass Road and attempted to break open lock box containing quarters. Their attempted was unsuccessful and they fled the area.

March 17

Officers stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violation on Comstock Drive at Alder Drive. The driver was found to be DUI.

Vehicle was stopped on Highway 89 South at Deerfield Drive. The driver was found to be DUI and under 21 years old. He was arrested and booked at Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Truckee.

Officers stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violation on Schaffer Drive. The driver was arrested for DUI.
