Wigs for kids: Tahoe Hyatt’s spa offering free haircuts

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Stillwater Spa at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa, and Casino has achieved Ambassador Salon status for its participation in the Wigs for Kids Salon Network

Wigs for Kids is a nonprofit organization that provides complimentary hair replacement systems to children who have suffered hair loss as a result of chemotherapy, radiation, alopecia, burns or other medical circumstances.

The organization also serves to educate the medical community and the public on the issues, challenges and available options for these children.

As an Ambassador Salon, the staff at Stillwater Spa has demonstrated knowledge of the Wigs for Kids program, skill in the proper cutting techniques for properly harvesting hair donations and a commitment to support the program through fund raising activities.

Stillwater Spa at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino will offer complimentary haircuts to guests who donate their locks to Wigs for Kids.

The salon’s expertly trained staff harvests the hair donations and professionally styles the guest’s new hairdo, while arranging for the donated hair to be shipped directly from the resort to the Wigs for Kids team. Each donation collected at Stillwater Spa’s salon helps provide a hair system to a child in need.

“We are thrilled to earn Wigs for Kids Ambassador Salon status,” said Erica Korpi, spa director. “It gives us an incredible opportunity to use our training and salon expertise to really make a difference in the lives of these children, many who are in our community.”
