Truckee River RV Park takes on new life

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Walt and Tammy Inis, Glenshire residents, have been driving past for sale signs at “Doc’s” place on family play trips to Boca Reservoir for the past three years.

They finally made the call last fall and now here they are the new owners of the Truckee River RV Park, off Interstate 80 at 10068 Hirschdale Road in Truckee.

“Why? Why not? We fell in love with the park the first time we toured it. We have always been gamblers and thought we’d take the ultimate gamble in life and give her a go,” said Tammy. “Our plans for the business are to make it more of a resort-type place, focusing on the RV Park as our biggest asset and really trying to get it dialed in to exactly how we want it to be, fill it up and keep it full.”

Their two children Sophie, 4, and Bodhi, 2 are helping immensely with the day-to-day operations of the park.

“The gas station is back in action and will remain in action, we promise to never fun out of fuel,” said Tammy.

The store is open with a good supply of inventory and growing. Check out the fishing, camping and lake fun sections, RV supplies, and of course all of the goods one would need for a quickie stop: beer, snacks, drinks, coffee, and more. Hours are daily 7 a.m.-9 p.m.

They also have paddleboard, kayak, and canoe rentals for guests and locals alike. The park will be open year round, offering daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

“I would like to send a big thanks to everyone who has already stopped by … we couldn’t feel more welcome and appreciated. Thanks Truckee,” Tammy added.
