On the Hill: Hot air ballooning above Lake Tahoe

On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today's activity: Hot air ballooning at Lake Tahoe.

Conditions: It's up, up and away today as Dylan Silver takes On the Hill high above Lake Tahoe in a hot air balloon. The trip requires an early morning start, as balloons fare best in cooler temps with very little wind, but it's well worth the wake to catch a panoramic view of the entire lake. Plus you never know what surprises might happen onboard that balloon! This is one adventure almost everyone can enjoy. For rides out of the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Shore, check out Tahoe.com.

Today's weather: Highs of 83 today mean more moderate temps are returning to the lake. Still some slight chances of afternoon showers, but just 20 percent today. — National Weather Service
