INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The annual Relay For Life for Incline Village is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 2-3, 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. at Preston Field.
Teams can set up any time after noon, and entertainment will being at about 4 p.m.
The event’s Opening Ceremonies and Survivor Celebration will begin at 5 p.m., and the Survivor Lap will be at 5:30 p.m. All cancer survivors are invited to walk the lap.
Following the Survivor Lap will be the Caregiver Lap.
We have a special token of appreciation for our caregivers this year, those who have helped and supported our survivors throughout their cancer journeys,” said Aimee Giller, a community relationship manager wight he American Cancer Society.
Next, the annual Relay for Life Survivor Dinner will begin at 6:15 p.m. The dinner is sponsored by Nine 41 Eatery & Bar.
The restaurant’s managing partner, Adam Bishop, has “put together a great menu for our survivors and (is) looking forward to serving dinner for a small donation to the rest of the Relay participants during the evening,” Giller said.
A new addition this year to Relay is the Bark For Life lap, featuring a lap with owners and their on-leash dogs, beginning at 6 p.m.
“We will have a special area, ‘Bark Alley,’ where the dogs can be treated to games and goodies,” Giller said.
The Luminaria ceremony will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m.
“Please come down and decorate a bag for someone special in your family,” Giller said.
Luminaria bags are also available at the Incline Village General Improvement District offices at 893 Southwood Blvd.
On Saturday morning, the Knights of Columbus will be provide a pancake breakfast from 7-9 a.m. The event’s closing ceremonies will begin approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
