Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for July 8-15, along with previously unreported incidents.
Officers took a report of a verbal argument between family members on Whitetail Court. One party had a cite-and-release warrant. He was issued a citation.
Officers stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations on Donner Pass Road. Search of the vehicle revealed marijuana. The subject was cited and released.
Officers took a report of theft of gas cans from victim’s driveway on Dulzura Street. There is no suspect information.
A driver was stopped for vehicle code violations and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Property was found by officer on Donner Pass Road. The items were recovered and submitted into evidence as found property.
Reporting party conducted a credit check and discovered a fraudulent account has been opened in her name. The reporting party requested a report to be generated to document this incident for insurance purposes.
Reporting party reported a deceased adult female lying on the side of the road of the Olympic Heights subdivision.
Victim contacted law enforcement after her cell phone was stolen from her locked vehicle. The victim later called to report she located her cellphone at her residence. The case was closed.
A bathroom stall was vandalized with gang graffiti by unknown subject(s) on Pine Avenue.
Officers contacted a subject near Donner Lake. The subject was determined to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested and later released.
A two-vehicle, non-injury collision occurred on a town of Truckee-maintained road.
Two men were involved in a verbal altercation when one of them pushed the other on the ground causing a scrape on his leg. The aggressor was cited for battery. The incident occurred on Pioneer Trail.
A verbal confrontation between two male adults resulted in a physical altercation. One of the male adults was arrested for violation a restraining order and for battery on the other male adult.
Ex-boyfriend had repeatedly contacted his ex against her wishes for him to stay way. The girlfriend is in fear the ex will become violent with her.
Officers reported a single-bicycle collision.
Officers recognized driver as driving on a suspended license. The driver was stopped then cited and released for driving while suspended for DUI.
Reporting party found a bicycle tire near the Family Resource Center. The item was booked into property at the Truckee Police Department.
A bear has been increasingly destructive while entering houses on Hansel Avenue.
Victims left their house on Vista Avenue to come back a couple hours later to find their outside furniture was damaged and thrown on their front lawn.
A male subject was arrested for public intoxication and released with no charges pending.
Officers took a report of two stolen bicycles from an outbuilding on a property on Martis Drive. The total was estimated to be $1,000.
A citizen turned in a found item of jewelry to the visitor center in downtown Truckee. The Visitors Center employee waited for a day for someone to claim the ring; however, nobody had claimed it. The Visitor Center employee notified the Police Department and turned the ring in as found property.
An unknown suspect took victim’s backpack, which was in his unlocked trunk, without the knowledge of the victim.
Victim reported that she and her boyfriend were involved in a relationship, but because of honesty problems, the victim broke up with him. The boyfriend claims he is a tenant at the residence, but the victim reports that the male has only stayed at the residence occasionally and would not allow him back into the residence. Both parties were advised on their rights and the boyfriend left to avoid a trespass complaint.
Victim reported unknown suspect(s) entered his crawl space and stole copper piping. The case was suspended due to lack of suspected leads.
Officers responded to decedent’s residence after his daughter contacted law enforcement to report she hadn’t heard from him in more than a day. The decedent had several health problems and was pronounced dead on scene.
A suspect assaulted a victim with kitchen cookware. During the assault, the victim fell out of a wheelchair. The suspect was arrested.
