Deputies apprehend three juvenile runaways at Tahoe

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. —Authorities located three juvenile runaways near Lake Tahoe Tuesday evening after they fled from a basketball game at Incline High School.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 7:25 p.m. that three boys from the Rite of Passage Adolescent Treatment Center and School ran away from Incline High, according to a press release.

The juveniles had previously been adjudicated to attend Rite of Passage from a court in California.

Deputies from Washoe County and Placer County teamed with Washoe County School District Police and found the boys running into the woods at about 9 p.m. near Highway 28 and Gonowabie Road in Crystal Bay

After a short foot pursuit, all three were taken into custody.
