TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Wanderlust coming to town

The Wanderlust Festival will return to Squaw Valley July 18-21. In addition to yoga and live music, attendees will enjoy organic food and wine, an inspirational speaker program, meditation and outdoor activities, such as paddle boarding, hiking, biking, and running. The yogis teaching and speaking are considered rock stars of the discipline. The music lineup is equally impressive with Moby, Gramatik, Caravan Palace, Random Rab, Quixotic and more. Open Water Swim Clinic

The Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District, in conjunction with Boost Swimming will host an Open Water Swim Clinic at West End Beach of Donner Lake on July 18, 9-11 a.m. Instructor Jeff Pearson is a coach for the National Team, and will help you gain confidence and enhance your open water skills. Open to all ages, swimmers must be able to swim 300 yards continuously in a swimming pool. Call 530-582-7720 to register. Cost is $30 for the clinic.

Ladies Race Night at Northstar

Join the Tahoe LUNA Chix on July 18 at Northstar California for “Ladies Race Night.” You don’t have to be a pro racer to have some fun at this event, guaranteed to be a good workout. Your race entry fee of $15 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Fund. Racing begins at 6 p.m. Tell all your friends (the boys are welcome to come race too). Jazzercise new student special

Two weeks free for full-time, local residents. Jazzercise is a fun and challenging 60-minute total body workout that combines aerobics, strength training and stretching. Move to hot, current music — all ages are welcome. Get great results at our friendly classes at the lakefront North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. Monday through Saturday, 8:45 a.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 p.m.

Relay for Life

The 7th Annual Truckee Tahoe American Cancer Society Relay For Life will be held July 13-14 at Truckee High School. Relay For Life offers the opportunity to show care and support for people currently experiencing cancer, those we’ve lost to cancer, and for more than 1,600 cancer survivors in Truckee-Tahoe area. “Celebrate, remember and fight back!”

Relay Committee goals are to increase the community’s knowledge of cancer and its prevention. For information on forming a team or that special volunteer spot call Chris Otto at 530-277-2639, 6-9 p.m., or leave a message. Visit www.cancer.org or www.relayforlife.org for information.

Get Qi Gong benefits

Qi Gong may enhance health, the immune system, balance and aliveness. Anyone can benefit no matter what their condition or situation. Qi Gong classes will meet outdoors where the universe and earth energies are significantly more available. There are two classes per week. Each Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Truckee’s Community Recreation Center, or at the Truckee River Regional Park, Riverside Barbecue area, Thursdays, 10 a.m. at the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments, 10040 Estates Drive near the rodeo grounds.
