Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village

I hope now that we have had another snow event everyone is really ready for winter driving in Tahoe. With the arrival of November, the storms can begin and start working on the base we need for our winter activities.

Please remember that tonight you need to be extra careful on Halloween driving through the village as children could be out and about trick or treating.

Thank you to all of the hosts of the annual community Trail of Treats and Terror last week: Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center, IVGID Recreation Center, Lake Tahoe School and Sierra Nevada College. A huge shout-out to the Parasol AmeriCorps team for coordinating this annual event.

Remember to turn your clocks back this weekend and catch up on an extra hour of sleep. Also the annual Chocolate, Wine & Roses Festival is Saturday at the Hyatt. This event is a fundraiser for Tahoe SAFE Alliance and Project MANA. If you do not have your tickets please visit www.tahoechocolatefestival.org.

The Rotary Club of Incline Village on Monday, Nov. 11, will host a luncheon for all community veterans and active duty members plus spouses at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. RSVP no later than Wednesday, Nov. 6, to jcrogers@inclinelaw.com with names, phone number, email address, branch and years of service.

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, attend an informational meeting at the North Tahoe Event Center if you are interested in helping with the annual Tahoe Community Thanksgiving Celebration. To learn more visit tahoecommunitythanksgiving@gmail.com or call Meera Beser at 775-230-1066.

Congratulations to the Patriot Minions. The team won the U11 Championship in the Pumpkin Kick Classic Soccer Tournament. Great job girls!

The Bowlers to Veterans Link is having a terrific 9 Pin No Tap Tournament starting at noon on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Gold Dust West. Adult, youth, families, teens, everyone is welcome and this is one fun tournament to participate in for all ages. It is $20 for adults and $13 for kids.

Happy Anniversary to Don and Marcie Johnson on Nov. 5.

OK I hate when this happens, but no birthdays were sent in this week.

The best deal and steal in the village this week is at Diamond Peak. On Saturday, Nov. 2, attend the Job Fair at the base Lodge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, to jeanmeick@aol.com.
