Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village

Well I guess better late than never. Let’s hope that the snow this week is just the beginning of our winter. Let the season start again. Go and enjoy all of our outdoor venues.

Next week the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District is having its annual Community Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Main Fire Station on Tanager. Make appointments at www.BloodHero.com with the “INCLINE” sponsor code or call 775-831-0351, ext. 0. Refreshments provided by Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe and U-Bake Pizza.

Hope you have tickets for the annual Incline High School Booster Club Crab Feed at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom. If not, tickets are available at www.inclinecrabfeed.com or the Potlatch but hurry as this event sells out.

Friday, Feb. 7, at the Tahoe Biltmore is the annual Father/Daughter dance sponsored by Tahoe SAFE Alliance and the Tahoe Biltmore. Tickets are available at www.tahoesafealliance.org or call 775-298-0010.

Valentines Day is just around the corner. Make plans to have dinner out now. Many of our great local businesses will be offering special Valentine’s Day packages, but you must have a reservation.

Parasol’s AmeriCorps program is now accepting applications for 2014-15 Host Sites. To learn more about host sites or to fill out the application visit www.parasol.org or call Allison at 775-298-0186.

Our local Incline participants in the annual Seniors Bowling Tournament at the Gold Dust West in Carson City included Ronnie Rector, Carlos Gonzalez, Jim Wilbur, John Godfrey, Dave Smevik and Susan Herron. Next week we hope to have more news from that event.

Again this week no birthdays. Let’s see if next week some birthdays will appear. I know birthday celebrations are happening in this village. So share the news.

The best deal and steal this week is at the Hacienda’s 28th Anniversary Bash from 4-11 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30. Great dinner prices all night long plus live music and more. Go celebrate.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, to jeanmeick@aol.com.
