Truckee Police logs, Jan. 21-Feb. 4

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for Jan. 21 through Feb. 4.

January 21

• Victim informed officers that he found property stolen from his business on Craigslist. Officers contacted the suspects, found the stolen property and arrested the suspects.

• Driver was stopped for erratic driving. Upon contact it was determined the driver was driving on suspended driver license. The driver was cited and her vehicle was towed.

January 22

• A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

• Telephone report was taken for traffic complaint of speeders on Riverview Drive and Estates Drive.

• A juvenile sold marijuana to several students and maintained a small amount of marijuana on his person. The juvenile was cited and released to a parent.

January 23

• Officers responded to a transient sleeping inside the location on Donner Pass Road. The subject was booked for refusing to sign citation for trespassing.

• A juvenile was found in possession of marijuana on Alder Creek Road. The juvenile was cited and released to a parent.

• A subject turned in an iPhone that was found in front of a business on Donner Pass Road.

• Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was found to be in possession of an illegal assault weapon and high capacity magazine. The driver was arrested.

January 24

• A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was found to be unlicensed. The driver was cited and the vehicle was towed.

• Officers responded to a neighbor disturbance on Sierra Drive. The victim placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest for misdemeanor vandalism and trespassing. The suspect was booked in Nevada County Sheriff`s Office in Truckee.

• US passport was left at a sandwich counter on Highway 267. Clerk brought it in to the Police Department. Report was taken for information only.

January 25

• A subject contacted the Police Department to turn over some property that was found in front of establishment on Donner Pass Road.

• Driver was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was cited and released for being unlicensed and the vehicle was towed.

• A driver hit a parked vehicle on Donner Pass Road. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

• A driver involved in vehicle collision was contacted and had objective signs of being under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI.

• Officers responded to a report of an unruly patron at a restaurant on Donner Pass Road. The patron was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

January 26

• Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. An investigation determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol while operating the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested and booked for DUI.

• A driver was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

• The suspect and the victim are married and got into a physical altercation on Waters Way. The victim had visible injuries. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence.

January 29

• Officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle had Texas license plates that were not registered with DMV. After investigation it was determined the vehicle was displaying the improper license plates. The improper license plates were removed from the vehicle and the driver was cited and released on a citation.

• Reporting party reporting losing an iPhone and a set of keys on Donner Pass Road.

• Officers took a report of non-injury solo collision into a building on Donner Pass Road. The driver left the scene of the collision without leaving the appropriate identification.

• Las Vegas Police Department required victim to obtain a courtesy report from Truckee Police Department regarding a fraud that occurred in Las Vegas due to victim living in Truckee.

• Mother and daughter got into a physical altercation after daughter became verbally abusive. The daughter was admonished by officers, and the mother was advised to contact law enforcement for future problems with her daughter.

January 30

• A vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was found to have a felony parole warrant. The driver was arrested.

• Reporting party located a magazine for a 9mm Glock with 10 rounds in it in the trunk of his rental car.

• Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence restraining order violation on Glenshire Drive. The suspect was contacted at his residence and was arrested.

January 31

• Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor vehicle code violation. An investigation determined the driver to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and booked for DUI.

• Reporting party came to the police department to report an on-going violation of restraining order by her ex-boyfriend.

February 1

• A subject was contacted on Donner Pass Road and was found intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The subject was arrested and later released.

February 2

• A driver was stopped for vehicle code violation and was arrested for DUI.

• Officers took a report of an unknown subject damaging mailboxes on Skyline overnight.

February 3

• A driver was stopped for vehicle code violation. The driver was found walking away from the vehicle. The driver was contacted and arrested for DUI.

• Juvenile was cited and released for possession of contraband on school grounds on Donner Pass Road.

• Officers located evidence revealing a possible prowler on Overland Trail overnight. There is very little suspect information.
