Truckee Donner Land Trust hires new director of finance

The Truckee Donner Land Trust is pleased to welcome Ward Fansler as its new director of finance.

Ward is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has served exclusively in nonprofit organizations for the past 15 years as Director of Finance, CFO or CEO in education, healthcare and conservation organizations with budgets ranging from $3.5 to $40 million.

Fansler’s introduction to conservation work was through the Resources Legacy Fund in Sacramento, assisting in complex grant management and partnerships such as the Northern Sierra Partnership.

Qualified accounting contractors and Certified Public Accountants have previously managed the financial functions for the Land Trust during various periods.

“Hiring a full-time, in-house individual at this time in our long history not only provides for seamless communications and improved efficiencies, it shows that our growth is related to the amount of conservation and stewardship work we maintain,” said Truckee Donner Land Trust Executive Director Perry Norris.

Fansler is excited about the position and contributing to the mission of the Truckee Donner Land Trust.

“My passion has always been with nonprofits and serving those in need. The stewardship of our beautiful mountain landscapes for generations to come resonates with me,” he said.

The mission of the Truckee Donner Land Trust is to preserve and protect scenic, historic and recreational lands with high natural resource values in the greater Truckee Donner region. Learn more at www.tdlandtrust.org.
