Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for June 17-24, along with previously unreported incidents.
Driver was stopped for moving violation. The driver was unlicensed with a learner’s permit. The driver was cited and told to park the vehicle. Later, the driver was observed to operating again. The vehicle was impounded.
A traffic stop resulted in the driver of the vehicle being arrested and booked for DUI.
A probation search was conducted at a residence on Estate Drive. Two suspects were arrested for violating their probation terms.
A subject was located staggering in a roadway on Donner Pass Road. The suspect was arrested for being intoxicated in public.
Vehicle was stopped for speeding. The driver was cited and released on misdemeanor warrant.
The victim of a burglary in Reno called to report his stolen iPhone was sending him a location notification from an address in Truckee. The subject in possession of the stolen iPhone was located at the address and subsequently cited and released for possession of stolen property.
A belligerent subject began yelling at his neighbor over his dog supposedly being on his property. The subject threatened to cause harm to the dog. The incident occurred on Glenshire Drive. Report was taken for information only.
Driver was stopped for vehicle code violation on Highway 89 at Rainbow Drive. A vehicle search located 85.2 grams of marijuana. The driver was arrested, cited and released.
A dog was reported in an enclosed vehicle in the downtown area and was determined to be distressed. The owner was contacted and admonished.
Intoxicated subject woke up behind a building and discovered his wallet was missing.
A vehicle was stopped for a mechanical violation. Minors in the vehicle were found to be in possession of alcohol. They were cited and released.
A subject refused to leave a hotel on Brockway when requested and was arrested for trespassing.
A suspect refused to leave a business on Highway 267 after loitering for approximately 3 hours. The suspect was booked at Wayne Brown Correctional Facility, as crime was likely to occur.
Juvenile was skateboarding down the road when three dogs broke free from owner’s gasp and surrounded him. One of the dogs bit the juvenile before he was able to get to safety.
Officers took a report of verbal argument between a boyfriend and a girlfriend on Colton Creek Road.
A heavily intoxicated subject was reported to be getting into his vehicle. The subject was found asleep in the vehicle and very intoxicated. The subject was arrested.
Reporting party reported an unknown person entered his residence unlawfully, used the residence and left the residence in uncleanly condition. The reporting party’s wife later called to report she was the person responsible for the mess left at the residence. The case is closed.
Officer made a U-turn to make traffic stop on mechanical violation. The driver fled into a mobile home park. The driver abandoned the vehicle, then returned and was arrested. The driver had a suspended license and no insurance. The vehicle was impounded.
Officers took a report of theft of laptop from an unlocked residence on Palisades Drive.
Officers responded to a third party report of domestic violence on Glenshire Drive. A female adult was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery.
