Three arrests made in burglary case

On Wednesday just before 1 a.m. South Lake Tahoe Police responded to Tahoe Keys Liquor at 2297 Lake Tahoe Blvd.on report of a burglary alarm activation.

The first Officer arrived on scene within minutes and confronted two suspects who were inside the store, according to South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD). More officers arrived and two suspects were arrested in front of the store without incident, SLTPD stated in a press release. The preliminary investigation indicated the suspects entered the store by smashing the glass out of the front door.

A third suspect was stopped by El Dorado County Sherriff’s Deputies attempting the leave the area in a vehicle, the press release stated. The amount of damages was available as of press time.



The men arrested were identified as Lorenzo Jackson, 20, from Antioch; Shayan Taghi, 20, from San Ramon; and and Ryan Mello, 21, from San Lorenzo. the three men were arrested and booked into El Dorado County Jail on charges of burglary and conspiracy. Taghi was also charged with vehicle theft.

SLTPD is also investigating a second burglary that occurred at American Gas, located at 1140 Emerald Bay Road, that took place before the Tahoe Keys Liquor burglary. A general description provided to SLTPD of the American Gas suspects bears similarities to the suspects arrested in the Tahoe Keys Liquor burglary. Both cases are under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call the SLTPD and reference case numbers 1503-0208 (Tahoe Keys Liquor) and 1503-0209 (American Gas).
