TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) recently announced their annual Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund dinner. The dinner will honor members of the Women’s Fund as they celebrate the power and impact of women who give in the North Tahoe/Truckee community. TTCF expects more than 200 guests to attend the evening event on May 2 at the Resort at Squaw Creek. Tickets can be purchased online, cost is $65 for members and $75 for prospective members.
The Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund was founded in 2006 as an initiative of TTCF. The fund strives to empower women to take part in philanthropic efforts in the North Tahoe area. During the past seven years, the fund has gifted a total $280,000 to various nonprofits in the community, including Project MANA and Tahoe SAFE Alliance.
“I believe the Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund is making a significant impact on the lives of so many people in the North Tahoe region, and I look forward to the upcoming dinner. Together we will be able to both celebrate our past successes and re-energize our group’s commitment to doing together what we would not be able to accomplish alone,” said Nancy Gisko, leadership team chair.
Speaking at the event will be Stacy Caldwell, CEO of TTCF and Martha Simon, chief development officer at Tahoe Forest Health System. Rebecca Powers, who in 2003 founded a women’s collective-giving organization called Impact Austin, will also speak. Impact Austin has raised more than $4 million on behalf of those in need in central Texas.
