We are ready to begin the merry merry month of May in a few days. Let’s hope it is going to be a time to welcome summer visitors early since winter ended long ago. Of course May also means celebrations like Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. So start planning for the events now.
There is still time to see the Vagina Monologues at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach on Friday or Saturday. For information about tickets call Tahoe SAFE Alliance at 775-298-0010.
On Monday local families are invited to the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center from 6-7:30 p.m. for the Incline Community Resource Fair. Parents can attend to learn more about local family support, substance abuse prevention and counseling, violence prevention and intervention, family counseling and a special presentation on Youth Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
At 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, Incline Elementary School is having Kindergarten Orientation. It will be held in the cafeteria and translation will be provided. And, from 9:30-2:30 on Wednesday, May 1, registration begins at Incline Elementary and continues the rest of the week. If you need more information call the school at 775-832-4250.
Plan now to attend the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration on Sunday, May 5, at the Hacienda de la Sierra in Incline. Scott Comstock has been hosting this event now for 27 years and what a great event. The fun will begin at noon so make your plans now.
Another event that is almost sold out is the Tahoe Family Solutions annual Surf and Turf dinner at Big Water Grille on Tuesday, May 7. Limited seating is available so call 775-298-0004 for tickets.
The Incline Village/Crystal Bay Republican Women will be hosting some of America’s Greatest First Ladies for lunch on Tuesday, May 14 at The Chateau.
