EDITOR’S NOTE: “Tip of the week” is a periodic feature running in the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, in partnership with the Incline Village General Improvement District, providing locals with various tips pertaining to the recreation opportunities the district provides.
Spring is here and it’s time to start playing tennis. Here are some tips to help you get started.
Tennis exercises joints and muscles that are normally not used much by the average person, in particular around the elbows, wrists, ankles and knees. Make sure you are stretching in these areas and working on your flexibility daily.
Additionally it’s time to get your equipment prepared. Make sure you have your racquet re-strung periodically to maximize ball striking.
Also, don’t forget to stock up on high-altitude tennis balls. The Incline Tennis Center Pro Shop has balls and offers all types of string and outstanding stringing service by our tennis professionals.
We can also take care of all of your merchandise needs including apparel, shoes, racquets, balls, grips and much more.
Once you are ready to start playing, set up a private tennis lesson to get the kinks worked out of your swing and footwork. Private and group lessons are available now.
Please contact the Incline Recreation Center at 775-832-1310 with any questions about membership pass opportunities, adult and youth programming, tournaments and anything else.
The Incline Tennis Center Pro Shop opens for the season Monday, May 6.
