TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — The 25th Annual Alpen Wine Festival will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, 2-5 p.m. at The Village at Squaw Valley.
All event proceeds benefit Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, a national nonprofit organization and innovative provider of lifestyle empowerment programs for people with MS and their support partners. Tickets are available for $40 online at www.mscando.org/alpen and will be available on-site starting at 1 p.m. on the day of the event.
The $40 ticket purchase includes a commemorative crystal wine glass, a variety of wine tastings featuring more than 40 vineyards, live music and access to the silent auction room full of wine, lodging packages and more.
“Last year, Alpen Wine Fest raised more than $17,000 for our lifestyle empowerment programs,” said Heidi A. Heltzel, president and CEO at Can Do MS. “Fundraising events such as this one allow us to bring programs free of charge to Northern California and Nevada for people and families living with MS.”
During the wine event, pre-registration will be open for the 2014 Vertical Express for Can Do MS at Squaw Valley early in March. Vertical Express is a participation-based fundraising event, where skiers and riders of all ages and abilities may participate as individuals or as members of a team.
Can Do MS impacts more than 10,000 people living with MS and their support partners per year through in-person programs and online services. Can Do MS has hosted a number of in-person programs in California and Nevada over the years and have reached more than 1,000 people living with MS in there.
