North Tahoe crime logs, Aug. 1-14

Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for Aug. 1-14.

August 1

• Sometime overnight on the 8800 Block of Rainbow Avenue in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect damaged victim’s washer and dryer sitting in the driveway.

August 2

• At 6:30 p.m. on the 200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested for public intoxication due to being so inebriated that he couldn’t stand up by himself.

• At 7 p.m. on the 6000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, a female suspect was arrested for domestic violence.

• At 9 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, two different suspects shoplifted from a local business at two different times. Both suspects were seen on a surveillance camera committing the crimes.

August 3

• At 10 a.m. on Pino Grande Avenue at Snowflake Avenue, a victim was assaulted by a male suspect whom the victim told to slow down as he drove erratically through a residential neighborhood. The suspect punched the victim in the face to the point that the victim required stitches. The suspect later turned himself in at the Sheriff’s office and was arrested for felony battery.

• At 2 p.m. on the 2000 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect broke into victim’s vehicle and stole personal items.

• At 4 p.m. on the 2000 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect broke into victim’s vehicle and stole an iPhone.

August 4

• At 12:30 p.m. on Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City, a report was taken for a physical assault that occurred between a married couple on a boat in front of their children. No arrest was made and no prosecution desired.

• At 6 p.m. on the 2200 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, a heated argument started over a broken glass. Twenty-plus people began pushing and shoving each other. A male suspect threw a female down a steep hill of rocks, and a female suspect hit a separate victim with a rafting paddle. Both suspects were arrested for battery.

• At 6:30 p.m. on the 2200 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, a very intoxicated female subject ran across the busy highway and attempted to make physical contact with a prisoner in the back of a deputy’s patrol vehicle. The female was arrested for a drunk in public charge.

August 5

• At 1 p.m. on the 1700 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole a victim’s iPhone out of her purse while dining at a local establishment.

• At 7:30 p.m. on the 900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, after officers witnessed a male fall into the bushes and land on the parking lot, the subject was arrested for drunk in public.

• At 9:45 p.m. on the 8600 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a female suspect hit a victim’s vehicle with a piece of rebar, breaking the window and front windshield.

August 6

• At 7 p.m. on the 13000 Block of Ritz Carlton in Truckee, an unknown suspect removed victim’s iPad from his hotel room.

August 7

• At 6 p.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a victim’s wallet was stolen but later turned into security — $500 in cash and a credit card were missing.

August 9

• At 11:15 a.m. on the 9900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

August 10

• At 1 p.m. on the 1800 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect removed victim’s backpack from a boat tied up to a buoy.

August 11

• At 10 a.m. on the 700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole victim’s fishing rod and binoculars from his boat kept in a slip.

August 12

• At 10 a.m. on the 500 Block of Runnymeade Lane in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect removed two windows screens sometime since June.

• At 1 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, two male suspects assaulted victim by punching him in the head. Both of the suspects were arrested.

August 13

• At 10:30 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, a male subject shoplifted a bottle of whiskey from a grocery store. Charges are pending.

August 14

• At 8 a.m. on the 6500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect stole two unlocked bicycles from victim’s vehicles.

• At 7 p.m. on the 5000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect stole $1,200 in personal electronics from an unlocked vehicle.

• At 8 p.m. on the 800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a report was taken of a loud, aggressive male suspect in the parking lot. The male was arrested for drunk in public.
