TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Tahoe Fund is again launching the successful “Plates for Powder” promotion to drive sales of Lake Tahoe license plates. From now until April 1, purchase a new Lake Tahoe license plate in California or Nevada and receive two free lift tickets to one of the 11 Tahoe participating resorts.
“We are so thankful to our resort partners for giving free access to their world-class resorts for people who step up and support Tahoe with license plate purchases,” said Amy Berry, CEO of the Tahoe Fund.
More than 96 percent of the funds raised through plate sales go directly to the California Tahoe Conservancy and Nevada Division of State Lands to fund hiking and biking trails and watershed restoration projects. The Tahoe Fund, a bi-state nonprofit dedicated to raising money for Tahoe Basin environmental improvement is organizing the program on behalf of the public agencies.
Current Tahoe plate owners need not be discouraged, as they can win free lift tickets throughout the winter season through the “Plate Spotting” promotion. The public is invited to spot plates and upload their own photos to www.Facebook.com/tahoefund.
Alpine Meadows, Heavenly Valley, Homewood, Kirkwood, Diamond Peak, Northstar California, Sierra at Tahoe, Royal Gorge Cross Country, Squaw Valley USA, Sugar Bowl, and Tahoe Cross Country are participating in the program.
