Join Kindred’s rainbow igloo project, winter classes

TRUCKEE, Calif. — “Kindred Community Rainbow Igloo and Winter Break Sessions” aim to bring winter wonderment to the whole community.

Start saving your paper milk cartons for ice block production to build the community rainbow igloo, an inspired community project. Drop off your cartons at Kindred Art and Folk Institute, located at the Community Art Center in Truckee anytime (please leave at back entrance in a labeled bag when studio is closed).

You may also make your own ice blocks and take them to the site for construction. This will be an ongoing project through the end of January. Production should take a month or less, depending on how many people are involved.

With a little help from Mother Nature the igloo should last through March; so spread word and celebrate winter with Kindred.

Winter break full day sessions at Kindred are available for students at 5-14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at a cost of $45 per day, with activities from art, cooking, holiday projects, to music and more.
