Little Big to benefit Truckee Bike Park

When first learning to ride the Truckee Pump Track, rolling over a little jump can seem like a big deal. But, through guided progression and positive support, bike jumps quickly become less intimidating. Progressive skills will make you a bigger, better rider.

Women of all ages and skill levels can improve their riding in a fun-packed environment Sept. 27-29, when the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District hosts The Little Big, a ride-style weekend event for women, at the Truckee Pump Track.

Led by local Cortney Knudson, these confidence-building clinics will be guided by a friendly lineup of ICP-certified coaches, coming in from all over the United States and Canada, willing to share their extensive riding, racing and coaching knowledge.

As a fundraising event, where all proceeds go to phase three of the Truckee Bike Park, local and national sponsors continue their involvement and support for this sport and the growing numbers of women participants.

In addition to various clinics and practice time throughout Saturday, they are planning a night pump track and jump jam, with prizes awarded to the best line, most improved and most passionate rider.

Additionally, because the ladies might enjoy watching the guys too, they’re planning to host a men’s competition for those willing to dress with flare and show off their moves.
