Meyers Area Plan on agenda for Tahoe Regional Planning Agency meeting Wednesday

El Dorado County officials will present the long-awaited Meyers Area Plan Wednesday at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency meeting in Stateline.

The plan is set to replace the existing community plan, which dates back to 1993. Funding is one issue that has prevented the plan from being updated in the nearly 25-year gulf between plans, the Tribune previously reported.

Brendan Ferry, a principal planner for El Dorado County, will spearhead the presentation for the county.

The Meyers Area Plan, a comprehensive land use and zoning plan, includes goals, policies and projects intended to improve traffic flow, walkability, recreation and the overall look of the community.

The new plan is consistent with the Lake Tahoe Regional Plan and the El Dorado County General Plan.

“This plan updates 20-year old policies to streamline permitting, improves consistency between El Dorado County and TRPA policies and standards, conserves land around the Upper Truckee River, formalizes a local citizens advisory council, and integrates design standards and guidelines,” reads a media release from El Dorado County.
