This past Sunday, Tahoe residents and fans from cities near and far packed Harvey’s Outdoor Arena to full capacity.

The massive crowd turned out to watch Train perform an early stop on their summer Play That Song Tour. Supporting acts for the evening included alt rock artists O.A.R., and pop sensation Natasha Bedingfield.

Train routinely draws large crowds and music lovers from all different age groups with their own signature pop-rock sound. This evening proved to be no exception, as the band brought in the largest crowd that Harvey’s Outdoor Concert Series has seen this summer.

Ticket prices for premium seats were selling for several hundreds of dollars on resale sites.

Train took the stage with core members Patrick Monahan, Drew Shoals, Jerry Becker, and brothers Luis and Hector Maldonado. The band brought with them an elaborate lighting rig, which included a state-of-the-art LED that alternated between song lyrics and dynamic imagery.

Lead singer Monahan demonstrated his ability to catch cell phones like an all-star outfielder as fans tossed their iPhones on stage in hopes that he would take a selfie with them.  The band performed many of their hits including “Drops of Jupiter,” “Hey Soul Sister” and “Drive By,” and left the crowd wanting more.

The Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series continues Friday with a performance by rocker Lenny Kravitz.

Tickets are available online through Ticketmaster.
