Sammy Hagar celebrates 10 years of 'Cinco de Tahoe'

Sammy Hagar will celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Cinco de Tahoe” with a pair of performances at the South Shore.

Hagar plays the South Shore Room at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Friday and Saturday.

The “Red Rocker” will also give away several pairs of tickets to his October birthday bash in Cabo San Lucas over the weekend. Purchases of a Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum at Cabo Wabo at Harveys Lake Tahoe will enter the buyer in a raffle for a set of the tickets, according to information on

Country-rock band Left of Centre will perform at Cabo Wabo starting at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A special Sammybration Redhead Buffet will also be available from 1-3:30 p.m. Saturday. For $44.99, the buffet offers food, a 10-year anniversary T-shirt and chance to win one set of tickets to the Cabo San Lucas party. A separate Redhead buffet breakfast will be offered Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $19.99.

Hagar is known for a long musical career, performing with Van Halen and Chickenfoot and writing songs such as “I Can’t Drive 55,” “Right Now” and “Why Can’t This Be Love.”

Hagar released “Sammy Hagar & Friends” in 2013. The party record features 11 collaborations with artists including Toby Keith, Chad Smith, Kid Rock, Joe Satriani and Taj Majal.
