Renaissance Faire set for 22nd year

The 22nd annual Valhalla Renaissance Faire will be May 31-June 1 and June 7-8 at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe.

The fair is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

The celebration of “magic, mayhem and merriment” features a cast of nearly 1,000 costumed entertainers showcasing their stage acts. There will be shows, music, dancing, jesters, Shakespearean vignettes, staged battles, storytelling for children and adults, archery tournaments and more. Nearly 100 vendors will be featured offering jewelry, woodcrafts, artwork, ceramics, clothing, historic weapons and leather goods.

10:30 a.m. – Bard’s Cloak of Tales; 11:15 a.m. – Broon; noon – Fowl Tales; 12:45 p.m. – Broon; 1:30 p.m. – Bard’s Cloak of Tales; 2:15 p.m. – Fowl Tales; 3 p.m. – Broon; 3:45 p.m. – Bard’s Cloak of Tales; 4:30 p.m. – Fowl Tales; 5:15 p.m. – Broon.

Newcastle Stage

Queen’s Stage

The faire will be open only to students from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 5. A family day is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6.

Admission costs $18 for adults, $13 for seniors 62 and older, military and ages 13-17 and $8 for children 6-12. Admission to the family faire on June 6 costs $7 for adults and $5 for children 6-12. Children younger than six are admitted free. Pets are not permitted.

Parking across from the site costs $5 and is free at casinos; free shuttles from casinos to the faire are available.
