Discounted tickets to Sample the Sierra, a farm-to-fork festival in South Lake Tahoe, will remain available until Aug. 1, according to a press release from TahoeChamber.
The fifth annual food festival takes place Aug. 31 and has found a new location at Bijou Community Park this year. The festival previously took place on Ski Run Boulevard.
“Framed by towering pines and a lush landscape, Bijou Community Park is a favorite recreation spot for many and also the perfect backdrop for a day of food and wine tasting with local vendors,” according to the release.
Tickets are available for $30 per person until Aug. 1. Tickets will be $40 per person after Aug. 1.
“This trademark Labor Day weekend event gathers the best in the Sierra Nevada for food, wine, spirits and handmade goods for a one-day celebration that includes live music and a cooking challenge between three local chefs,” according to the release. “Guests will have the opportunity to taste collaborations between El Dorado wineries, restaurants and producers while shopping locally made jewelry, soaps and housewares.”
Sample the Sierra is a collaborative effort on part of El Dorado County, Tahoe South and TahoeChamber. The festival focuses on geotourism in the Sierra Nevada with the goal to increase awareness of the region’s bounty, heritage, culture and activities, according to the release.
